4-H'ers helping senior citizens With proper use of the health care system, Tennesseans can live a healthier lifestyle. Extension faculty educate consumers about health-promoting behaviors, such as exercise, responsible drug use, proper use of health care systems, immunizations, chronic disease prevention, stress management and preventing lead poisoning in children. Arthritis Education Program — Partnership to promote the following arthritis education programs for Tennesseans.
   • Arthritis Self-Help Program
   • Arthritis Foundation Exercise Program
   • Tai Chi

Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Program — The TCLPPP is a collaboration headed by the Tennessee Department of Health with the goal of protecting Tennessee's children from lead poisoning and to promote among all populations the knowledge and skills needed to prevent lead poisoning.

Dining With Diabetes — A cooking school program for people with diabetes and their families.

Family and Consumer Sciences Emergency Preparedness Program — Information to help individuals and families plan & prepare for a disaster, information on what to do if a disaster occurs, and information on how to recover from a disaster.

Family and Consumer Sciences Bioterrorism/Homeland Security Web Site

HealthWorks! 4-H Program — A wellness program for youth in grades 5 through 12.

Medication Awareness Education Program — A unique program focusing a increasing medication awareness.

Navigating Your Healthcare System — A worksite health literacy program.

Poison Prevention Program — Educational programs for parents and child caregivers to help prevent poisonings caused by household products, personal care products, plants, and medications.

Protect Your Family's Health with Immunizations — Educational program that addresses the need for immunizations for adults and children.

Team Up Tennessee — Working to increase breast and cervical cancer screenings among rarely and never-screened women in Tennessee.

Tennessee Radon Program — A statewide environmental program whose primary functions include outreach, education and assistance.

Tennessee Shapes Up — Health and nutrition programs that address the growing rate of obesity in Tennessee.

The University of Tennessee Center for Community-Based Health Initiatives — A partnership of the UT College of Pharmacy and the UT Extension Service formed to improve the health and care of all Tennesseans.

UT Youth Environment and Health— Research group working to educate those involved in Tennessee school systems, childcare facilities, and other child-serving facilities to reduce children's exposure to environmental contaminants.

Walk Across Tennessee — A fun and fitness program for Tennesseans of all ages.
