Extension programs provide information to farmers and consumers relating to the safety and quality of our food supply. Extension educators teach food processors, handlers and consumers about proper methods to minimize food-borne illness. Extension faculty also teach limited-resource citizens about the importance of maternal and infant nutrition, health-promoting practices and food preparation and safety.
