University of Tennessee Extension is a statewide educational organization funded by federal, state, and local governments that brings researched based knowledge in agriculture and family and consumer sciences directly to individuals, families, and communities.

Polk County lies in the Southeast corner of the state. It is home to the Ocoee, Hiwassee, Conasauga, and Jack Rivers. Polk County is rich in history and natural resources. The Cherokee National Forest provides many recreational venues for it's citizens and visitors. Agriculture, manufacturing and tourism are Polk County's major industries.
