SLAM This is the method most used to prepare grain for storage. It simply stands for Storage, Loading, Aeration and Monitoring. These are the basic methods of storing any grain in farm bins. Stored grain pests may already be present in the bin and/or infest the grain after filling. Other insects may infest grain while it is in the field, and they are inserted into bins during the filling process. Treatment with a grain protectant is generally most important when storing wheat. Wheat is stored during the warmest time of the year, and this is conducive to insect development and damage.
